For many years, ASPI administered an annual survey of its member companies designed to confidentially measure relative performance in the marketplace. Member companies used this data to compare their individual company's performance against that of the market and the total of ASPI member companies.

The Performance Benchmarking Survey is designed to provide unique pulp and paper industry market intelligence to ASPI member companies. The survey will:

• Provide general data that indicates how the various regional markets for the pulp and paper industry suppliers has recently changes and is forecasted to change in the short-term future
  
• Provide market data which allows each ASPI member company to compare their specific companies performance to the average performance of all ASPI companies in various product and geographical market segments
  
• Provide market intelligence in a manner wherein the various products and services supplied by ASPI members can be segmented and relatively compared

The survey will be conducted twice annually and a full report will be presented at each of the ASPI meetings.
